Congressional Composites Caucus - Inaugural Event
On July 15 ACMA's Congressional Composites Caucus, a growing organization of Representatives and Senators interested in the composites industry, will hold its first event at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington D.C. The focus of this event will be the use of composites in transportation infrastructure. All ACMA members are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the networking opportunities with Members of Congress and their staff, and to build support for the industry. ACMA Offers Risk Communication Program
ACMA has designed a Risk Communications Program for the composites industry to give plant owners and managers the tools they need to inform and reassure their employees and neighbors about chemical health risks. The kit includes a customizable PowerPoint presentation and a 5-minute video on the facts about styrene to share with workers and neighbors, as well as a fact sheet, poster and glossary of terms—in both English and Spanish. The kit also comes with a tutorial video and printed risk communications guidelines for owners and managers to reference. The program is available to all composites manufacturers and free to ACMA members via the ACMA Risk Communications Program website.
Tax Incentives May Help Your Business
The IRS has announced various energy-saving steps that can result in greater tax savings for individuals and businesses in 2010. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) contains three funding options for businesses that will reduce energy use or create new energy sources. Companies can file for an energy investment tax credit, a productions tax credit or an energy grant. For more information on available company and homeowner tax incentives, visit the IRS website.
