What are the prerequisites for enrolling as a CCM candidate?
|
| The ACMA Composites Certification
program is a progression beginning with the basic Certified Composites Technician
(CCT) qualification. Once achieving CCT status, advanced qualifications include
becoming a CCT Instructor or a Certified Composites Manager (CCM). To
qualify for the CCM program you must hold one of the following certifications:
CCT, CCT-Cast Polymer, CCT-Marine, CCT-Compression Molding, or CCT-Instructor. |
| |
What basic skills are required? |
|
There are fundamental skills a manager
must command to be successful in today’s business world. For example,
basic computer skills are required to complete this study course.
The CCM candidate will need to have access to a computer and the Internet, to
reference regulatory requirements. Candidates are also expected to have basic
proficiency in word processing and the use of spreadsheets, specifically MS
Word™ and MS Excel™, to complete certain study assignments. |
| |
What is the scope of the CCM study course? |
|
The CCM course work
covers a broad footprint, using multiple text books. Each text covers
an area of management expertise that must be mastered on the road to becoming
a Certified Composites Manager. CCM looks at a wide range of composites technologies
with the objective to create a well rounded manager who understands the big
world of composites in addition to their particular niche in the business. |
| |
How is CCM different from CCT? |
|
The CCT program consists
of a single study guide, that may be studied independently, or the participant
may choose to attend a tutorial with a CCT Instructor. The applicant may take
the CCT exam at any time when determining their study preparation is complete.
The CCM program consists of a Study Guide plus multiple text books that correspond with seven modules
in the Study Guide. Each module requires written course work to be submitted
- seven submissions in all - before the candidate is qualified to take the written
exam. Most of the work in the CCM program takes place with the module work submissions,
and the written exam is an overview of the work submitted.

| |
What is the progression within the CCM process? |
|
Once the candidate receives
the study materials package they will begin work on the submissions outlined
in Study Modules 1-7. The submissions may be made one module at a time or in
groups, at the option of the candidate. Once all seven module submissions
have been made, the candidate can register to sit for the written examination. |

What is the configuration of the final exam? |
