Emissions From Closed Molding and Other Composite Manufacturing Operations

EPA's AP-42 Emission Factors for Composites provides a basis for estimation of emissions from composite manufacturing processes. EPA has withdrawn the AP-42 factors for open molding. However, the AP-42 factors for non-open molding processes remain in effect for use when better information is not available.

Chapter 5 from EPA's Background Information Document for the Composites Production NESHAP - This EPA document provides emission estimates for many composites manufacturing operations. (The complete BID for the composites MACT rule is available from http://www.epa.gov/ttn/atw/rpc/rpcpg.html.)

ACMA is collecting additional information on PM emissions from composites manufacturing operations. In the meantime, this draft document contains useful information and analysis. Spreadsheet for the PM guidance (xls, 38kb).
