Vectorply Corporation, a world leader in the manufacture and distribution of composite reinforcement fabrics, has an immediate opening at its Phenix City, AL location for an experienced Composite Engineer.
Responsibilities:
Provide laminate recommendations for potential and current customers utilizing Vectorply reinforcements and VectorLam software
Provide technical service and support to Vectorply sales/customer service staff, and customer base regarding Vectorply reinforcements and VectorLam software
Perform/arrange laminate testing (physical or mechanical) when required
Conduct presentations regarding Vectorply reinforcements at conventions or to small groups of customers
Submit technical papers to industry publications
Assist with the technical and aesthetic aspects of new marketing literature
Assist in design of new reinforcement fabrics for specific applications
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Composite, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
At least 3 years experience in structural design with composites materials
Proficient in composite manufacturing processes such as open molding, vacuum infusion, Lite RTM, vacuum bagging, etc
Familiar with composite material applications in marine, industrial, wind energy, & sporting goods industries
Proficiency in computer software applications (MS Office, some CAD/FEA experience beneficial)
Up to 50% travel generally within the US and Canada
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with public speaking opportunities
Reside within the Phenix City, AL/Columbus, GA area with an office located at the main plant
Some experience with quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100, etc.) is beneficial

Experienced Up-tower Blade Repair Technician needed as site lead for wind turbine blade repairs. Should have significant blade repair experience and wanting to move up to a company that offers full service wind turbine repairs including blades, gearboxes, main shafts, oil changes and much more. Broadwind companies manufacture wind turbine towers, gearbox gearing and transport all of the major components. The service group offers wind turbine installation as well as comprehensive operations and maintenance services.
Requirements:
Must have several years working on rotor blades up-tower
Must be experienced in epoxy and polyester lamination
Must have worked using wind turbine work access platforms in the past
Prefer an experienced hands on individual to lead two field laminators
Must feel comfortable working in remote areas and managing their work
