Position Overview:
This position monitors competitive activity, market needs and trends in order to strengthen Evonik's global position as the leader in isophorone chemistry as well as actively searches for new products, technologies, and chemistries.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Support strategic marketing activities.
- Develop market plans for the promotion of Crosslinkers products into composites and other strategic applications.
- Ensure that Crosslinkers products are well positioned in R&D projects at strategic customers and market segments.
- Identify and build relationships with key decision-makers and specifiers.
- Initiate technical developments at key customers.
- Identify potential acquisition targets (Yukon) and establish technical partnerships in strategic markets such as composites.
- Identify associations and R&D organizations in composites fields that specify/approve formulas and establish a presence for Crosslinker products.
- Active participation in Evonik's Composites Team.
- Keep abreast of technical advances in relevant markets to determine how best to position our products.
- Participate in relevant trade shows.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 5 years technical experience with thermoset resins, such as epoxy, especially with emphasis in the composite fields.
- Candidate should ideally possess a balanced knowledge of technology, markets, and trends.
- Candidate should be able to think strategically, formulate plans and act boldly.
- This position requires a degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent internal training or experience.
- Strong interpersonal customer skills, both in person and on telephone.
- Prior involvement and participation in key industry organizations, plus strong contacts within same organizations or in industry.
- Good presentation and computer skills.
- Willing to travel.
