ACMA Offers Hands-On Learning at Closed-Molding Conference in Seattle March 16, 2009 (Arlington, Va.) - The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) is offering composites manufacturers a first-hand look at the closed-mold process at its Dynamics of Composites Manufacturing: Tutorial through Live Demonstrations conference in Seattle on June 2-3. The two-day event includes live demonstrations, expert panels and leading industry exhibitors offering greater insight into efficient and environmentally friendly manufacturing options. With a focus on vacuum bagging, vacuum infusion, and RTM technologies, this closed-molding conference will offer attendees ideas and insights into the latest production developments, process techniques and regulatory updates, and will have a special session on lean manufacturing principles. “Participants will get an insider’s look at beginner to advanced techniques for manufacturing both small and large parts. They will learn about the advantages of light-resin transfer molding, building a closed-cavity bag mold, vacuum infusion, advanced kit cutting techniques, and more,” says Marcy Offner, Marketing Manager at Composites One, which, along with Magnum Venus Plastech (MVP) and the Closed Mold Alliance, is helping sponsor ACMA’s Seattle conference. “The conference will also showcase the advances in resin transfer molding, including the latest in injection system controls that can help reduce labor, resin usage and waste,” says Jeff Austad, Vice President of Sales and Distribution for MVP. The conference will be held at the Lynnwood Convention Center. Discounted hotel rooms are offered at the nearby Marriott Courtyard in Lynnwood, subject to availability.
