Governor Mitt Romney to Speak at COMPOSITES 2010 Show 
November 12, 2009 (Arlington, Va.) -- The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) today announced that Mitt Romney, former Massachusetts Governor and 2008 presidential candidate, will give the keynote speech at COMPOSITES 2010 on February 9 – the first day of the association’s three-day event. COMPOSITES -- THE Composites Exhibition and Convention will be held February 9-11, 2010, at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas. “We are thrilled that Governor Mitt Romney will be speaking to the composites industry about the challenges facing our nation and our small businesses,” says Tom Dobbins, ACMA’s Chief Staff Executive. “As a businessman with a distinguished career in public service, Governor Romney understands what it takes to grow a business and lead others during tough economic times,” says Dobbins. The former Massachusetts governor and candidate for the 2008 Republican presidential primary also served as President and CEO of the Salt Lake Organizing Committee for the 2002 Olympic Games and founded Bain Capital, one of the nation’s most successful venture capital and investment firms. Drawing on his extensive experiences, he’ll talk about his concerns over our nation’s declining industrial competitiveness, our weakened economy and struggling energy programs. Governor Romney’s keynote address will kick-off COMPOSITES 2010, the largest composites event in North America to feature exhibits, education and networking opportunities for all segments of the composites industry. This year, program and education sessions will include an emphasis on emerging markets such as energy and high-performance materials. There will also be a main stage in the exhibit hall to allow presentations by exhibitors and others to all attendees, as well as the industry’s prestigious ACE and Pinnacle product awards competitions.
