Pinnacle Award Winners Announced at COMPOSITES 2010
February 12, 2010 (Arlington, Va.) -- Saluting innovation and creativity in cast polymer design and application, the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) announced the winners of the prestigious Pinnacle Awards at COMPOSITES 2010 during the awards luncheon on February 10, in Las Vegas.
Monroe Industries, Avon, N.Y., received the Pinnacle Best of Show Award for its Robal Glass table top featuring recycled glass cast with a bio-based resin. This is the highest cast polymer industry award and was chosen by a judging panel as the superior product entry. The Robal Glass entry, which also won the Pinnacle Best Installation Award - Residential, was made from Ashlands’ Envirez bio-based resin and glass pieces obtained directly from a glass crushing plant in the Mohawk Valley in upstate New York.
The Pinnacle Best Installation Award-Commercial/Specialty was awarded to International Marble Industries, Inc. (IMI), Woodstock, Ga., for its ISIS Luxury Bath. The ISIS Luxury Bath is one of IMI’s many designer luxury baths for hospitality interiors. Manufactured with MasterCast engineered composites (cast polymer), the ISIS Luxury Bath offers the authenticity and durabilty of stone but is lighter and warmer to the touch. The hidden built-in overflow system also provides a minimalistic look to fit into any style of bathroom.
Each year ACMA’s International Cast Polymers Alliance presents the Pinnacle Awards at COMPOSITES, ACMA’s annual exhibition and convention. The Pinnacle Awards are sponsored by Reichhold. For more information about COMPOSITES, visit www.acmashow.org.
