ACMA Announces COMPOSITES 2011 Call for Presentations

May 5, 2010 (Arlington, Va.) — The American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA) today announced a June 11 deadline for submitting technical paper abstracts and a September 1 deadline for submitting education presentations for COMPOSITES 2011: THE Composites Exhibition and Convention to be held February 2-4 in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.  All technical abstracts and presentation ideas must be submitted online at www.acmashow.org.

“ACMA is looking for technical papers and education presentations that allow COMPOSITES attendees to make the connection between how materials work and what these innovations mean in terms of practical application and end-market use,” says Betty Wolf, Business Planning Process Leader, Owens Corning Composite Solutions Business, Toledo, Ohio, and Co-chair of the COMPOSITES Committee.

Each year, nearly 3,000 composites industry professionals attend COMPOSITES to bolster their continuing education and find innovative solutions. Produced by ACMA, the annual event is the broadest venue for sharing research and expertise with composite industry professionals and end users.

All technical papers at COMPOSITES present research on materials and products, cutting-edge applications, design protocol, code development, case histories and/or statistical analysis.  They are peer reviewed and include data support and scientific conclusions.  While all topics and ideas are encouraged, COMPOSITES is specifically looking technical papers on the following topics:  Infrastructure- CIPP; Polyurethane resin in composite applications; Vacuum Infusion Process; and Wind Energy.

The education sessions at COMPOSITES focus on how-to information, trouble shooting, best practices, industry trends, case studies and/or process assistance. They address issues such as composites tooling, processing fundamentals, environment and “green”, facility design, business management, market trends, regulatory issues, waste reduction, human resources, industry challenges, growing markets, and end use of composites.

ACMA is inviting industry managers, production supervisors, executives, technicians, researchers, members of academia and materials suppliers to submit technical paper abstracts and education presentation ideas for consideration by the COMPOSITES committee. Presenting at COMPOSITES is an opportunity to educate industry peers, increase visibility and help shape the future of the composites industry.

Authors of all accepted technical papers and education session topics receive complimentary conference registration.
