October 18, 2007 (Tampa, Fla.) – International Marble Industries, Woodstock, Ga., took Best of Show – People’s Choice Pinnacle Award at COMPOSITES & POLYCON 2007, with its entry IMI Pinnacle Swirled Cast Granite, a 32” vanity top with a white Mailbu flair bowl and a ¾ bullnose edge. This and three other Pinnacle Awards were announced at the Awards Luncheon during the show.
The International Marble Industries product exemplifies the myriad of color combinations that can mimic natural stone, all of which demonstrates to the consumer the ease of care, seamless installation and beauty of cast polymer products over natural stone. The prestigious Best of Show – People’s Choice Award is recognized as the highest cast polymer industry award and is chosen by COMPOSITES & POLYCON conference attendees and a judging panel as the superior product entry.
The award for Most Sustainable Market Growth & Attractiveness went to Six-Eleven Limited, Inc./The Finishing Touch, Inc., North Hollywood, Calif., for “The Loft” Urban Master Bath. This award is presented to the entry that demonstrates the potential to significantly increase the use of cast polymer products in existing or developing markets. Most Creative Application was awarded to Dibbs Marble Products, Tampa, Fla., for the Dibbs Cultured Marble Hydrotherapy Shower, Bath and Vanity. The product display, with a uniquely lit shower, hydro tub and attractive vessel vanity, represents a practical, yet elegant and soothing design. The Most Creative Application award is presented to the entry that demonstrates the most creative application of cast polymer material that is imaginative, innovative or artistic. It should show evidence of significant replacement of traditional materials or innovative use or refinement of existing composites materials.
Marble Works, Eatonton, Ga., with its Double Ogee Master Vanity, received the award for Best Installation. The custom installation, consisting of a double ogee and double-angled vanity accompanied by a make-up area, incorporated a cultured marble backsplash.
