August 9, 2007 (Arlington, VA) - Gary L. Whiting, owner of Tiffany Marble and resident of Lee’s Summit, MO, has been elected to serve as president of the International Cast Polymer Alliance (ICPA). ICPA is an alliance of the American Composites Manufacturers Association (ACMA). The ICPA promotes recognition and demand for cast polymer products such as cultured marble, cultured granite, cultured onyx and solid surface kitchen and bath products. The organization represents over 300 members who are manufacturers, suppliers, fabricators and installers of cast polymer products. ICPA members account for approximately 85 percent of the total U.S. production of cast polymer products and a growing volume of international production. Whiting was elected by the membership of the ICPA after being nominated for president by the group’s nominating committee. As president, he will lead the organization in a year of service from July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008. He succeeds previous ICPA President Timothy Hill, of Syn-Mar Products, Inc. in Ellington, CT. "I would like to personally thank Tim Hill for his hard work and dedication to the ICPA in his tenure as president,” Whiting says. “Under Tim's leadership, we began the industry marketing audit. I will make it my mission to implement the recommendations which we gain from this process,” he continues. “Furthermore, I would like to thank last year's board for the many hours they contributed to serving this organization. I would like to ask this year's ICPA board for their support in tackling the demands which lie ahead. We will rise to the occasion." Whiting’s company, Tiffany Marble, has been an ICPA member for 30 years. “As a long-time member of the ICPA, it is an honor for me to serve as president of this organization,” Whiting says. “Our industry faces many challenges, but I believe the collective strength and experience of our membership can be leveraged to do great things for each of our businesses,” he continued. “We have to get back to reinventing cultured marble, and develop a marketing program to revitalize the industry,” Whiting explains. “We must find ways to get this effort going and to make it successful, for the long-term health and growth of our industry,” he continues. “Additionally, it is my personal goal to increase membership in ICPA through an organized, concerted membership program.” Copyright © 2007 American Composites Manufacturers Association |
